    A = Addict
    AD = Addict daughter
    AH = Addict Husband
    ALO = Addicted Loved One
    ALO=Addicted loved one
    AMA = Against Medical Advice
    AS = Addict son
    B4=BEFORE(obvious unless you've never used a chat)
    BF = Boyfriend
    BTDT = Been There, Done That
    BTW = By The Way
    CAL = Conference approved literature
    D = Daughter
    Dd = Dad
    DOC = Drug of choice
    ESH = Experience, Strength and Hope
    F = Father
    F2F = Face To Face
    FAQ = Frequently Asked Questions
    FD = Foster Daughter
    FIL =Father in law
    FS = Foster Son
    GF = Girlfriend
    H = Husband
    HALT = Hungry, Angry, Lonely or Tired
    HP = Higher Power
    IMHO = In my humble opinion
    IMO = In My Opinion
    IOP = Intensive Outpatient (usually associated with a rehabilitation program)
    JFT = Just For Today
    JMO = Just My Opinion
    KISS = Keep it simple
    LMAO = Laughing My Ass Off
    LMAO=LAUGHING MY ARSE OFF
    LOL = Laugh out loud
    M = Mother
    MIL = Mother In Law
    NA = Narcotics Anonymous
    NAR-ANON = A 12-step program for all who have been affected by someone else's use of drugs.
    NAR-ATEEN = A 12-step program for teenagers who have been affected by someone else's use of drugs.
    NM = No Message
    OD = Overdose
    ODAT = One day at a time
    OMG = Oh My God!
    OMG= OH MY GOSH
    OT = off topic meaning not necessarily Nar-Anon related
    OTC = Over The Counter
    PITA=PAIN IN THE ARSE(not necessarily a recovery term, one I use regularly
    PO = Parole Officer or Probation Officer
    R = Recovering
    RAD Recovering Addicted Daughter, etc. etc.
    RALO Recovering Addicted Loved One
    RL = Real Life
    ROTFLMAO = Rolling on the floor laughing my ass off
    S = Son
    SESH = Sharing our Experience Strength and Hope (title of the recently published Nar-Anon daily reader)
    SW = Social Worker
    TFLMS = Thanks For Letting Me Share
    TFS = Thanks for Sharing
    TTFN = Ta ta for now
    TTYL = Talk To You Later
    TY = Thank You
    TYVM = Thank You Very Much
    UA = Urinalysis
    W = Wife
    WSO = World Service Office
    WTG - Way to Go
    YW = You're Welcome
