celebration

Post by ktoews » Wed Apr 26, 2017 9:15 pm

HI all, well - today I defended my thesis project. It was a public defense that involved my committee, faculty members, and members of the community. I was approved to graduate with my Master's in Psychiatric Nursing slated for next month! just wanted to share with you all. In spite of our family struggles, life goes on and milestones of moving forward continue. Thanks everyone!!

Its so great how, with recovery --we can still go about our lives, and appreciate the good stuff and strive for personal goals in spite of our ALO.

I hope you are going to celebrate in a way that is meaningful to you and yours.
Dont let ANYTHING spoil this for you. ( or anyone)

Congratulations on reaching a great milestone!

Great to see shares of achievements.

They bring hope to many and could inspire more

Congratulations! I graduated in December with my Masters in Nursing Leadership. This was a small miracle considering in my second semester I had to bring my son home from college due to a "mental breakdown", which turned out to be withdrawal after he had used up his scholarship money. I nearly convinced myself to quit and take care of him. I'm so glad I didn't!

Since graduation, I've discovered that my intense focus during school protected me somewhat from the effects of my son's addiction. The sudden extra time after my thesis defense gave me too many hours to reflect on what had happened and my son's ongoing use. I went into a pretty bad depression, which is only now starting to lift. I hope you enjoy your graduation day more than I allowed myself to. The accomplishment is huge, and I admire you for posting about being proud of all your hard work!

Congratulations Kim! What a huge accomplishment for YOU!! You should be really proud of yourself!

Life on Life's Terms is not always easy. Through working my program I learned I have choices. I can choose to live amongst the chaos of someones addiction or rise above. I live my life free of chaos of any kind today.

Your Share is a true testament that we can Rise above our ALO's addiction and still take care of ourselves.

Life does go on and thank God for that. We are blessed with free will to live our life the way we choose.

Thank you for sharing HOPE.
