Burn bright by Natalie grant- this is a awesome song that will put you to tears. This song is dedicated to her nephew that became lost in a dark place full of drugs. Its more of finding your way back to jesus

Brave by Sara Bareilles has been speaking to me lately and,
always, Simple Man by Lynyrd Skynyrd.

I love rereading this post every once in a while. Music is a great healer and also allows us to release emotions we are holding in.

Every Storm (Runs Out of Rain) - Gary Allen

Thank you for suggesting "Swim"

I have been drifting and on the verge of drowning, but today I listened to this song and I'm going to start swimming....it may start out as a doggie paddle, but I'll get their!

Here comes the Sun by the Beatles! Just wishful thinking that it would warm up so could go for a nice walk when feeling anxious.

I find myself that music can express what I am feeling when I can't articulate what I want to say:
The Great Escape by Pink is one I keep listening to at the moment
"I won't let you make the great Escape"
"I won"t let you check out of this place"

One of my favorites lately is outside by staind. I like the verse close to the end of the song

All the times
That I've cried
All this wasted
It's all inside
And I feel
All this pain
Stuffed it down
It's back again
And I lie
Here in bed
All alone
I can't mend
But I feel
Tomorrow will be OK

So many songs by Daughter. I swear she loves an addict. "Smother", "Landfill", and "Medicine" especially.

Cast my Cares:
When fear feels bigger than my faith and struggles steal my breath away.
I will cast my cares on you
You're the anchor of my hope
The only one who's in control

I printed out the lyrics for this and keep it in my car. When it comes on I sing on the top of my lungs. Luckily for all those around I keep my windows closed.

The Script - The Man Who Can't Be Moved
"Cause if one day you wake up and find that you're missing me
And your heart starts to wonder where on this earth I could be
Thinking maybe you'll come back here to the place that we'd meet
And you'll see me waiting for you on the corner of the street
So I'm not moving, I'm not moving"
Although, really we have to move on with our lives, we will always be there when our AS decides to turn back to find us.

Someone mentioned "Smother" - I just looked up the lyrics...this got to me; so true.

"Smother"

I’m wasted, losing time
I’m a foolish, fragile spine
I want all that is not mine
I want him but we’re not right

In the darkness I will meet my creators
And they will all agree, that I’m a suffocator

I should go now quietly
For my bones have found a place to lie down and sleep
Where all my layers can become reeds
All my limbs can become trees
All my children can become me
What a mess I leave
To follow

In the darkness I will meet my creators
They will all agree, I’m a suffocator
Suffocator

Oh no
I’m sorry if I smothered you
I sometimes wish I’d stayed inside my mother
Never to come out
