Sponsor

I have been attending f2f meetings for over a year, and have joined this site a few months ago. I am trying to work the steps as best I can, but I need a sponsor. I asked several of the "senior" members of my f2f group but no one knows how to get a sponsor. There are people who have been going to the same meetings for 2 years and more, and they never had a sponsor. One woman who I befriended said "good luck" when I told her I needed a sponsor. It seems that there are none available at our particular meeting. Could I have a sponsor on this forum?

Thank you.

In the Nar-anon Family Groups Board look for the Nar-Anon Forum Contacts for a list of current members and those that may be willing to sponsor.
I would also recommend getting the pamphlet on Getting A Sponsor. See if they have it at your f2f meeting or order online at www.nar-anon.org
Having a sponsor than becoming a sponsor is a way to carry the message to others and sponsorship can grow within your area.

Hope this helps.

Judy,

There might be some who are willing to sponsor here (Diane wrote a post about that issue), but I also wanted to encourage you to venture out to Nar-Anon meetings that aren't necessarily close to home. Going "outside" of your normal radius could bring you what you need.

Another way to seek out a sponsor is to get yourself to a Nar-Anon convention.............that's where I found my sponsor! ;)
