With the understanding that addiction is a disease and the realization that we are powerless over it as well as over people's lives, we are ready to do something useful and constructive with our own.

Then, and only then can we be of any help to others.

I saw a great read the other day that spoke volumes to me
and after reading Dean's post I thought it might be helpful to others. Here it is:

Try not to confuse "attachment" with "love". Attachment is about fear and dependency,
and has more to do with love of self than love of another. Love without attachment is
the purest love because it isn't about what others can give you because your empty. It
is about what you can give others because you're already full.

no author given.

For me this is a good add on to Diane B. " Fantasy post".

For a long time, I confused a lot of things with love. Dependence, pity, fear, obligation. After working this program for awhile, I realized that love requires nothing of me but to love. Love with a bunch of baggage and strings attached isn't really love at all.

Keep coming back.
The only wrong way to work this program is to not work it.

Wow - thank you for posting this. Similar to a conversation I had with my therapist - which has my mind working on over drive lately.

Sometimes I do not know how much I need these little insights, until WHAM they hit me. This spoke volumes to me, so thank you.
