Please join me in prayer

With the understanding that addiction is a disease and the realization that we are powerless over it as well as over people's lives, we are ready to do something useful and constructive with our own.

Then, and only then can we be of any help to others.

Please join me in prayer

Post by simplemom » Tue Mar 22, 2016 8:54 am

My son has once again succumbed to his love of heroin.

Working my program and my resulting spiritual journey has given me comfort in prayer and knowing there is power in prayer.

I am powerless.

I pray for strength and courage to face each day one day at a time until my HP shows me the way. JFT, I pray for my thoughts to turn to gratitude and love. I pray not to react with my emotions as I catch myself running towards that cliff into the rabbit hole of my son’s addiction.

I pray that my son’s HP will show him the way.

I take great comfort in knowing that I have meetings, an understanding fellowship to prop me up, my literature and The Steps. I work on feeling the loving arms of my HP around me.

My prayer for Inner Peace:
Please keep my mind, heart and body to feel peaceful.
Please help me to let this situation go.
Please help me to release the need to control.
Please help me to be patient and to trust that you are resolving this issue.
Please help me to release anger, worry and frustration.
Please, Lord, restore my inner peace.

Thank you all for your positive thoughts and prayers for my son. The sadness is overwhelming at times...Gotta stop these tears....puffy eyes do not look well on me...I have a jammed packed day! Moving forward in the grace of my HP.

Blessings and ((HUGS)) to you all.

I am so sorry :(

Thoughts and prayers to you and yours. Where would we be if we didn't have our program, our forum family, our f2f family, and the endless wealth of ESH to hold us up and support us in times like these? And people like you who so selflessly share?

Thank you so much for that.
My son's addiction is something that happened TO HIM. It is NOT something he did TO ME.

Amen to your prayer and to your program practice. There is nowhere our loved ones can go that their HP is not. There is nowhere we can go where our HP is not. As my HP once whispered to me - "I can't save your son from physical harm but his soul is in my hands. Fear not." Perhaps the message I received will be helpful for you?

I like knowing that while my HP is looking after your son, he can look after my daughter and keep her in the palm of his hand. However that looks--that still small voice--I hope she hears it

This is so hard. This disease ravages them and us. It burns all who come in contact.

Yet, there is hope. You and your son both are hope. Both of you know recovery. Both of you know what to do.

Weeping at the sadness is necessary. Feeling the fears and tears can help me come out of them.

I hear your pain, I know the sadness. I also hear hope.

Praying for your peace. Praying for his return to recovery.

Hugging you tightly.
Hugs....

with Love

I am praying for your son, that he seeks recovery once again. He knows what to do...he just has to remember. Prayers for all involved.

Love,
Linda

Dear Karen - I feel your tears.
They were running down my cheeks as I read your post.
I also know of your strength, your hope and your strong program as you were so gracious to share it with me so many times.
I hate this disease and the fact that it is always lurking around the corner to grab it's next victim.
Hopefully your son has as much support where he is as you have here through this fellowship and your f2f meetings.
I said many prayers for both of you.
you will remain in my thoughts.
Love, Donna

I am sending my prayers to you and your family.

I have figured out time and time again, there is no direct path to serenity,
it will ebb and flow.

We are here for you. Lean on us. You are with those who understand.
