Once upon a time, I was a special snowflake.

With the understanding that addiction is a disease and the realization that we are powerless over it as well as over people's lives, we are ready to do something useful and constructive with our own.

Then, and only then can we be of any help to others.

:) Glad you were able to make so many important shifts with the help of the program. Feels good to note our progress from time to time and to share it with others. BTW, I love the phrase: I am a special snowflake. Sounds gentle, easy, non-intrusive, non-invasive, soft, light and without a care in the world and no fears at all. I frankly wouldn't mind being a snowflake - if I get to be all sparkly with no sharp points. :)

A wonderful read and a wonderful reread!!
A lesson in humility!
Thank you!

This one of my favorites on the forum. Thought it deserved to be seen again. My special snowflakiness is melting these days. Having drug addiction in our family has really been a humbling experience.

Thanks! It's been said before, but it bears repeating....

Thanks for bumping. I have read this a few times before but this time I really READ it and let it soak in.
I also thought I was a pretty special snowflake and my son certainly was.
Humbling experience this addiction stuff is.

This is the most delicious passage of recovery for us!

We are not special snowflakes but we can thrive and grow with the work of our little spiritual program!

If you are new, the answer to your Serenity is here!

Keep coming back, you are worth it!
