NEW NAR-ANON MEETINGS LAST QUARTER OF 2012

With the understanding that addiction is a disease and the realization that we are powerless over it as well as over people's lives, we are ready to do something useful and constructive with our own.

Then, and only then can we be of any help to others.

Does anyone know of any Nar-Anon meetings in Houston, Texas. Went to a meeting that was on the website but it was a NA meeting. Would like to fine a Nar-Anon meeting and get a sponser.

The one at the Copperfield Church is a NA meeting not Nar-Anon. Went to that one.

Have not checked the others yet.

I guess you have seen the website - there is also one listed in The Woodlands. Are you sure there wasn't a Nar-Anon meeting going on at the same time as the NA meeting in a different room? I guess the NAs would have known if that was the case. I haven't been to any of them, I am about 1.5-2 hours away. I might make it down there one day... good luck!

No All the meetings posted are NA meetings. The meetings at the Methodist Church are also Na meetings not Nar-anon. Called the phone # Diane gave me and they gave me a number of a person who was the cordinator of the meetings in this area and she is no longer in this area.

Have not tried the Woodlands yet. That's kind of far from where I live but will go if it is the only meeting I can find.

You could try Al-Anon as well. I go to 3 al-anon meetings a week and find it very helpful, as the program is really about us and our reactions to our loved ones' addiction to drugs or alcohol. The principles are the same. I actually had an al-anon sponsor until just recently I switched to someone on the forum. And in my meetings, there are a lot of other people whose loved ones are addicts, not just alcoholics.

I called that # and she is no longer in the area and can't help me. I called the world # and they gave me Lynn or Linda's #. Nobody seems to know what is going on. The listings for meetings on the webpage are for Narcotics Anonamous. I called the churches to find out or to find a contact #. Seems like is a city this big there should be Nar-Anon Meetings.

That's pretty strange.........as I recall, someone in Houston started 4 or 5 meetings all at one time. Now, it seems that one person can depart and all crumble? Odd, I'd say.

The one up in The Woodlands has been going for a long time........perhaps you can get up there and connect?
Here's their listing on the church roster: the WSO can provide you a name and contact number!

You said the Friday meeting has been replaced with an NA meeting. How about the Tuesday and Sunday meetings?

Don't give up........it's' worth the effort!
