Gratitude for today

With the understanding that addiction is a disease and the realization that we are powerless over it as well as over people's lives, we are ready to do something useful and constructive with our own.

Then, and only then can we be of any help to others.

Thank you for starting this post and sharing your list. Mine is very similar and since I've been feeling down and sad lately so I'm going to consider everyone's ESH on this and start a daily gratitude list. Thanks everyone for sharing your gratitude lists

Thanks Heidi!

When you and others post their gratitude lists here, it is a powerful reminder to me that this is something I definitely NEED and WILL put on the top of my "to do list!"

When my daughters and I were going through Family Therapy, our therapist suggested that we start and/or end each day telling each other at least one thing we are grateful for--and a gentle reminder from her NOT to judge each other's gratitude share. :)
I know that many therapists, programs, etc. suggest this.
I have decided that I am going to ask my school students this year to end each day writing in their journal at least ONE thing that they were grateful for that school day..... :) (Yes, I will risk that they may indeed write that they are GRATEFUL the day is over and they don't have to put up with me anymore that day! )
So simple-so very powerful.

What a great idea! I think I will need to put this into practice in my own home, making sure that the gratitudes aren't the same every day, since I have a teen & pre-teen boy who are a bit immature!

Since I am posting, here is what I am grateful for today:

I am grateful that it is FRIDAY!
I am grateful we have cooler weather
I am grateful for the breeze blowing through my home
I am grateful that my AH is in recovery JFT
I am grateful I am working my program every day
I am grateful that I am a work in progress
I am grateful to have a home
I am grateful for my online family on this forum :D
