Sailing Through the Seas of Recovery

With the understanding that addiction is a disease and the realization that we are powerless over it as well as over people's lives, we are ready to do something useful and constructive with our own.

Then, and only then can we be of any help to others.

If any of you ever have the opportunity to attend a Naranon convention, do it. This weekend at the East Coast Convention in Atlanta was wonderful. The camaraderie of men and women in various stages of recovery, the hugs and head nods ...

My ALO's are amused because they have experienced the same at their conferences.

I am grateful that I have had the opportunities to fellowship with my homefriends, to meet new friends, and especially see :geek: and spend real time with many of you, my . I even was able to see in person my sponsor - <3 <3.

I can hardly wait for the next one.

Thank you for sharing. I am soooo happy for you that you had a great time and got to met people who understand what we are going through. And you got to meet your sponsor too. That is great!

I believe their is something going on North of where I live in Oct. I hope to make that event. If not the Naranon Convention is in Philly in 2013, which only happens every 10 or 20 years I have been told. So I am really going to try to make the event.

SO HAPPY FOR YOU!!! That you enjoyed it so much!!!!!!!! :D

Such a wonderful feeling of reading a name tags and saying "I know you!"

Thank you to the Georgia region and the ECC committee for the amazing gifts I received.

Thank you to this forum for being here and giving me the message of meetings, sponsor, steps and service.

It has brought me Gifts beyond my wildest dreams.

I am grateful that I listened.

Hey Sonia!
So grateful I got to attend the conference as well and finally meet you! It really is amazing to be able to meet the people from this forum who have helped and inspired me and be able to hug them for real and in person say, "Thank You, I love you". I met a bunch last March in Philly and a few more this time. There really is nothing like it. Thank you Lindsey for Sharing your room! :D
Hope to see you at the next one!

I had been told that it is hard to put into words the feeling you get
from attending a convention. It is true! My virtual hugs became
real hugs to so many of my sisters on this forum and new recovery
sisters from all over. The meetings and messages shared throughout
gave me an overwhelming feeling of hope and inspiration.

Thank you to the Georgia region and the ECC committee for an outstanding
weekend of recovery and service!

Looking forward to the Philly convention in March and seeing more of
my family of choice. :D

I am so happy to hear from all of you about the convention and how wonderful it was for you. As my mind and heart seemed to focus on the convention over the weekend, I feel that I was spiritually tuned in.
With that said, I can only imagine the power and grace of participating in the actual convention and the Philadelphia convention (August 29 - September 1, 2013) is in my calendar. I will await the details and have a year plus to continue to live, love and learn my recovery.

How fortunate you are....all of you who have f2f meetings.

I don't. No worry...I have managed to find a fairly significant
amount of recovery here on the Forum and it our online meetings
over the years.

But my true leaps in recovery have been at conventions. To hear,
to see, to feel all of the recovery simply surrounding me in love
and comfort is beyond definitions.

I go to the Area 10 PA convention every March. My once a year
f2f meeting! How honestly grateful I am to be able to have the
ECC4 right in my back yard! 2 in one year.

Seeing the faces and feeling the warmth of a hug is truly priceless!

So glad to see so many old friends and make new.

As a child we used to sing around the campfire during the summers....

Make new friends but keep the old...
for one is silver and the other gold!

I am wealthy beyond belief!

Hugs....
with Love

It is a crying shame that I had to miss the ECC..I had planned on attending---but, it just didn't work out.

I am looking forward to attending the Area 10 Conference in the Philly area,(Ft Washington Holiday Inn) the first weekend in March 2013 (good Lord willing).
This will be the 3rd year for me and I request time off from work MONTHS in advance.

I look forward to seeing you in March!!
