Slogans for Witchiepoo and everyone else:)

With the understanding that addiction is a disease and the realization that we are powerless over it as well as over people's lives, we are ready to do something useful and constructive with our own.

Then, and only then can we be of any help to others.

Slogans for Witchiepoo and everyone else:)

Postby Lyra » Wed Jul 18, 2012 2:30 pm

Someone whose name I forget posted a long list of slogans up here many weeks ago and I saved it on my computer. Sharing it again here for the benefit of all-I am a big slogan fan, they really do help when you use them.

AAA = Awareness, Acceptance, Action

Am I a part of the solution or a part of the problem?

An expectation is a premeditated resentment.

Any day can start over right now.

Being recovered is like getting a gunshot wound. You can recover from it but it does NOT make you bulletproof.

But for the grace of God, go I.

Change is a process, not an event.

Courage to change the things I can!

Cultivate an attitude of gratitude!

DETACH = Don't Even Think About Changing Him/her (let it begin with me-what am I changing in ME?)

Don’t make someone else a priority who only considers you an option.

Don't put the key to your happiness in someone else's pocket - keep it in your own.

Don't take everything personally.

Each new day offers a new opportunity.

Easy does it, but do it!

Embrace the journey.

Even if I keep falling down, if I've pointed in the right direction, I will get there!

Even if I'm on the right track, if I don't move I'll get run over.

Expectations are premeditated resentments.

Fake it till you make.

Fear is a darkroom where negatives are developed.

Fear is not a shortcoming - it's an emotion; our reaction to it can be the shortcoming.

Feel, Deal and the Heal (Feel it, Deal with it and then Heal from it)

First things first.

Focus on the program - not the problem.

FROG = Fully Rely on God

God speaks to us all a little differently, hoping we'll tell each other.

Glance at the past, but don't stare at it.

Great expectations can lead to great disappointments

HALT = don't get to Hungry, Angry, Lonely, Tired

Happiness is an inside job.

Happiness is not getting what you want, it is wanting what you get.

Have patience with all things, but first with yourself.

Help is only a phone call away!

H O P E = Happy Our Program Exists

HOW it works = Honesty, Open mindedness, and Willingness

How important is it?

Humility is not thinking less of yourself, but thinking of yourself less.

I came. I came to. I came to believe!

If it is to be, it is up to me.

If you do what you always did, you'll get what you always got.

If you find yourself in a rut, stop digging.

If you think handling everything is too much, try letting go.

If you want serenity, put your Higher Power between you & your problem.

In order to change the way we feel, we need to change the way we act.

In the end, it will all be okay. If it's not okay -- it's not the end yet.

In your own time

Is your program powered by Will Power or Higher Power?

It helps to learn the difference between being responsible to others and being responsible for others.

It's hard to be hateful when you're being grateful.

It's never too late to be what you might have been.

It is possible to change without improving - it is impossible to improve without change.

It is what it is!

Just for today.

Keep an open mind.

Keep it simple.

Learn from the mistakes of others; you can't live long enough to make them all yourself.

Let it begin with me.

Let go and let God.

Let go or be dragged.

Listen and learn.

Living life on life's terms.

Looking for God is like a fish looking for water.

Love and let be.

Measure yourself by your best moments not your worst.

Meeting makers make it!

Mind my own business.

Nar-Anon doesn't give us the choice between feeling good or feeling bad - it gives us the choice between feeling and not feeling.

Never alone, never again.

Never walk unescorted through your own mind - it can be a dangerous neighborhood.

“No” IS a complete sentence!

No matter how far off the path we've stumbled, we're no more than 12 steps away from the solution!

Nothing changes if nothing changes.

Nothing happens by mistake.

One day at a time.

One needn't make a crisis out of an incident.

One hour at a time . . . One day at a time . . . One step at a time.

Pain is inevitable, misery is optional.

Progress – not perfection.

Q-tip = Quit . . . taking it personally.

Recovery is a journey, not a destination.

Recovery is an inside job.

Recovery is not for people who need it, but for people who want it.

Remember yesterday, dream of tomorrow, but live for today.

Serenity comes when I stop expecting and start accepting.

Serenity is not freedom from the storm but peace amid the storm.

Seven missed meetings makes one weak!

Sometimes we help the most when we help the least.

Sorrow is looking back, Worry is looking around.

Take what you want and leave the rest.

Thank God for what you have ... Trust God for what you need.

The only difference between stumbling blocks and stepping stones is how we use them.

The way to get anywhere is to start from where you are.

There ain't no big deals!

There is no situation too difficult and no unhappiness too great to be overcome.

THINK

This too shall pass.

Thoughts are not things and feelings are not facts; they only have the power we give them.

To live or just exist - the choice is yours.

Today is the tomorrow that I worried about yesterday.

We are only as sick as our secrets.

We're not human beings sharing a spiritual experience . . . but spiritual beings sharing a human experience.

When we know better, we do better.

When you're flat on your back, there's no way to look but up.

When you feel left out, reach out.

Wherever you go - there you are.

Wonderful things happen . . . One Day At A Time.

Worry doesn't prevent disaster, it prevents joy.

You are right where you're supposed to be.

You can't change yesterday, but you can ruin today by worrying about tomorrow.

You can't think your way into a new way of living . . . you have to live your way into a new way of thinking.
God, grant me the Serenity to accept the people I cannot change,
the Courage to change the one I can,
and the Wisdom to know it's me!

Thanks Lyra and everyone who is contributung their favorites! I love them--keep them in a folder on my desktop. So helpful for those way too many times I feel like I may react too quickly or with all heart, no head!

Whoa. This is the longest list of slogans I have ever seen.
I think I'm going to print this out in the library tomorrow and
glue it into my recovery journal.
Thank You, Cyndy
