With the understanding that addiction is a disease and the realization that we are powerless over it as well as over people's lives, we are ready to do something useful and constructive with our own.
Then, and only then can we be of any help to others.

Our family is in crisis,
My son is on a crime spree like no other,
He is robbing and stealing to feed his drug
habit.
In the last 12 hours, he has stole one of our work vans.
(With more than $20k worth of dive equipment.)
He has broken a windshield to get into
another and stole money out of it.
This is not going to end good. I am praying
for something positive to happen out of this
situation. I know it's in God's hand, but at this
point I do not feel much relief in that.

Dear Linda
I'm so sorry. I can't imagine how frightened you must feel.
I'm hoping it all plays out safely for everyone.

Even God's hands at times can't give us a sense of calm. You have so much going on right now and I'm so sorry to hear of your situation. Pray hard and keep reading and participating in these forums. It builds strength and courage...soon your prayers will be answered with something positive (he gets caught and gets help). You hang in there and hopefully you are doing something nice for yourself to redirect your anxieties/worries

Oh Linda...my heart does hurt for
you and your family. It is so easy
to say all the platitudes, tell you
to let go, remind you of choices,
throw out a well placed slogan or
two but, the reality is too painfully
clear.
No doubt you are right....this will not
end well. These consequences will be
severe. I hate this for you. I hate that
addiction destroys so much. I hate that
you are in such pain.
But you are not alone. You don't have to
deal with this alone.
We are with you and I am praying that you
and your family will hold tight to all the love
and care coming to you. God has him.
God has you too.
Hugs and much love....
with Love

Oh Linda,
My heart dropped into the pit of my stomach as I read your post. I am so sorry for what you are going through.
I absolutely HATE this disease that takes over our loved ones causing them to do things they would never do otherwise.
I wish I was there to hold your hand as you wait this one out.
I will send up a prayer of comfort for you, and one of strength for your son.
Holding you in my heart today.
Jay

With tears I can feel your pain. I will hold
your family in my thoughts and prayers,
and also pray that your son will find the
strength to stop this insanity.

Dearest Linda--
I understand crime drug runs. I understand the pain, fear and horror. I prayed for my son's arrest to stop the insanity and to save his LIFE.
You and your family have been in my prayers..I continue to hold you in my heart and prayers.
(((hugs))) to you dear friend.

Praying for you and your family. It's so difficult to only be able to see such a small part of the huge universe, past, present and future, my HP can see. Thank goodness you have your faith, your program, and your friends to carry you through. This too shall pass.
Love,
Judy

Dear Linda, I am so sorry I just really hate that this is part of your life right now. It just sucks for sure. Active addiction seems to know no boundaries and have no limits as to what it causes a person to do to obtain their next fix. Such a horrible disease for sure. I can relate to the thefts and crimes from a loved one, and watching someone change into a person you do not even know anymore. I too along with others are praying for your pain to ease and for the best possible outcome for your Son, even if it seems bad at the time I pray the final outcome will be just what he needs and you and yours find peace.
love and peace
Marie
